According to a report from Vibe, as Beyoncé‘s Renaissance World Tour concluded in Kansas City, MO, on October 1st, the music/entertainment phenom revealed the trailer to her forthcoming visual, Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé. The project is scheduled to grace theaters in December.
According to a summary, the film will “accentuate the journey of the tour, from its inception, to its opening.” Fans will get to see Bey’s “creative process” and “involvement in every aspect of the production.”
Distribution of the film will be through a unit of AMC Entertainment.
In the 2-minute trailer, Bey states, “When I am performing, I am nothing but free. The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free, and no one is judged. Start over, start fresh, create the new — that’s what the Renaissance is about.”
The preview highlights exclusive footage, including clips of various “BeyHive” members during the 57-show itinerary, beautiful mothering moments, her daughter Blue Ivy performing beside her, and working with her backup dancers and crew.
In 2018, Beyoncé released the Netflix special Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé, which documented her Coachella performance. Her participation in the event made her the first Black woman to headline the festival.
Tickets for Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé are now available.
The film is scheduled for screening in the United States, Canada, and Mexico beginning Friday, December 1st, 2023, according to AMC. They also added that additional cities throughout the globe would be announced at a later date.
AMC and Cinemark will both screen the film.
